Free Labor
The Hound Girl homestead always has some project going on from trimming trees to building rain barrels to construction there is always something going on. My father and my husband are both great at projects, if its something they haven’t done before they figure it out as they go. I love that all projects gets finished, I think that is the hardest part! I’m very lucky between the two of them nothing ever goes unfixed or undone.
Recently we decided that we could use the wall space in one of the extra bedrooms and decided to take out the double doors to that room and make it a wall. There are two ways into this room, I really don’t understand why builders do that.
They ripped out the door, created the frame, installed the drywall, added the spackle, sanded and this past weekend they sprayed the texture on the wall. Now all is left is to paint and put the base boards on. We got a quote just to see what it would cost and the cheapest we were told was $500.00 and this project cost us $120 with all the materials, since the labor was free

My Hubby is handy, just not motivated. I have so many things we could on the cheap but I can’t do it myself.
Is that going to be the nursery?
Ok….send ‘em to my house now. I need a new room built!

Looks great. All that’s needed now is a little paint and a painting or picture.

We do that to my brother every time he comes to town. Kitchen remodel? New Roof? French door to the deck. Nice to have free skilled labor. Enjoy your new room. g
I envy you. We always have projects going here, but each one only gets about 90% done before it is abandoned.

That’s awesome! My daddy builds lots of stuff too. Right now he’s making a room in the garage to store some electronic equipment. I get to go in there only sometimes — it’s a dangerous place for a doggie!
Woofs & huggies, <3
