Rustic Hound – Water Resistant Personalized Dog Collars

For Those Who Wander Off The Path

Rustic Hound was inspired by our dogs, other dog lovers, and the never ending search for products that were unique. We felt that our HOUNDS personality was bigger than any product we could find, and that it was time to add some character to the same old thing.

I was online looking for new dog collars but I wanted something specific, I wanted  water resistant and personalized dog collars and my search landed me to Rustic Hound.

I have a Labrador which means she spends a lot of time in the water in the summer, I prefer her to wear a collar when she swims because if I ever had to save her I want something to hold on to or if she happened to get away for some reason she would have a collar and tags on even though she is micro chipped.

Rustic Hound created  durable, water resistant, non smelly,  rubber dog collars  that  work with rubber charms that are interchangeable made by  jibbitz that would make all dog lovers create a new obsession.

I hate that the every day dog collars are not water resistant and I still can’t get the smell out of her everyday personalized dog collars that I let her wear in the lake.

Rustic Hound dog collars can go through the dishwasher! How awesome is that!!  After our trip to the lake I just took the water house to her collar and washed it off, it can’t get easier than that!

Lets talk  CHARMS , this is the fun part about these dog collars you can choose charms that work with your interest and styles or you can choose charms that best fit your dog’s personality to decorate your dog collars.  They have anything and everything you could think of and the choices are endless to pick and choose.  For a lot of us dog bloggers we love to take pictures of our dogs for the holidays and we normally have some personalized dog collars we use but us being the dog lovers we are there is no need to buy multiple collars now.  you just need to purchase Rustic Hound dog collars and then you can purchase the charms to suit each holiday!

Rustic Hound loves helping out the hounds they take $1 from each online sale, and put it away for a special cause. Rustic Hound saves the money, and every 3 months donate to an organization.  These people are serious dog lovers and you can;t go wrong with a company that wants to donate a portion of their sales to help other furry ones.

There was several great testimonials on their website from other dog lovers and I knew I was sold on Rustic Hound.

  • This is the second review we seen on these collars this morning. they are great looking. They only sell large, do you find that to fit her okay?

    The silvers and more

    • Carol, just wanted to let you know we also have them in small, and medium :) You may have seen Dogtippers review…that was done when we first started so we only had large at the time. Thanks for checking us out!!

      • Thanks for getting back to me, do they have X large?

        The silvers and more

        • Carol the large will fit your dogs just fine with room to go smaller or larger, Haylie is a 90 pd lab and the large was perfect for her with room to make it larger or smaller.

  • TheSe collars now come in all sizes! They even have one sized for my yorkie! All my dogs have them, simply amazing!

  • Hmm…that could be cool – I go swimming pretty much every weekend however my peeps take my collar off before I go into the pool.

  • Never really thought about a waterproof collar. It would have come in handy a few years back. Nothing worse than that lake smell still wrapped around your dog’s neck. Very cool!

  • BEAUTIFUL Collar!!!! Guess what??? DACHSHUNDS are Water RESISTANT TOO!!!

  • I love the idea! We walk every day, rain or shine and those collars are really stinky. I don’t even try to wash them because I don’t want that big buckle banging away in my washer and dryer.

I’m off to check these out. Thanks for the information!

  • Ha-ha! Our pictures are almost the exact same today!

  • Such a cute collar! I always make Riley wear her collar, too, when she’s swimming. I don’t know why…I do take it off when she gets in her kiddie pool in the backyard though. Don’t know why I do that either…hmm… :)

  • Great collar!
Thank you for the words about Charlotte. It means a lot
    Nola

  • I love that this collar is not only girly, chic and PINK, but extremely practical. And it looks adorable on Haylie! I love seeing big girls sport chic accessories. I think I might have to get the same collar for my Mazzie, which I hope is OK with you and Haylie given that the likelihood of them both showing up somewhere in the same “outfit” is pretty remote given that they live in different states.

  • What a great idea! I love the pink flowered one on Haylie!

  • What a practical collar and beautiful too!

    Love ya lots,
    Mitch and Molly

  • Wow, those look like great collars. We really don’t need collars on our dogs since they don’t swim and live mainly in a fenced in yard. But they are good looking. Have a great day.

  • THANKS for sharing!! I love these collars and am going to have to check out the website–I’m with you on the smell and even when I’ve washed them, it doesn’t go away because it’s so embedded in the fabric.

I hope you’re doing well, and have had a good day!!

  • The collar look so nice,,, and a sweet smelling one is a good thing!
    love

  • How cool is that! Wow! And I need so badly a new collar. Mine has permanent stains on it now BOL! Mom Mom MOM! You gotta come see this!!! Here she comes… cross paws I can convince her to buy me one ;)

    Waggin at ya,
    Roo-bob

PeeS: Thanks for tellin me about this! :D

  • What a perfect idea! Smelly, dirty collars are such a nuisance, this is the best solution! (and cute ;D)

  • Love your new collar Hailey. :) Sniffs, The HoundDogs

  • Really pretty, none of our dogs are into water so they dont really need a water resistant collar but they sure are cool anyway

    urban hounds

  • They are waterproof, but that is kinda just the bonus! They were originally created for my Danes who have a lot of personality. I couldn’t find anything that had options, and style. My older Dane wouldn’t go in the water if his life depended on it :)
