April is our month to start getting the yard ready for the summer. We both love working in the yard. This month be brought in 3 yards of dirt to put out in the front yard and the sides of the house. The grass is great out front we just wanted to build up the soil. I can’t wait to see that yard of the month sign in the front yard!
The backyard is getting a major overhaul this summer. We are going to be laying new sod in the backyard, we have ripped out several flower beds, we just put down weed cloth and new dirt in the flower beds that we are keeping. My husband cut down some of our oak trees to let light through so our new grass will grow under the trees instead of it being a mud pit when it rains.
I bought this Cuisinart Keurig SS 700 and im in LOVE. I should have purchased this sooner! This machine-made life so easy – my husband and I have different taste when it comes to coffee so this is a breeze for us and our different tastes. Also I’m a huge cold coffee girl in the summer since its hotter than hell here in Texas and this machine can kick any Starbuck’s cold coffee’s ass.
April was a good month and the yard is looking great! There is alot of work to be done in the backyard for the month of may. Well my husband has alot of work to do – I mean someone has to make ice tea and take pictures!

Sounds like major yard work around your house. With 3 dogs, we are always trying to get the grass to grow around here.
Yesterday, mom gathered all the gnomes togethers… that’s about the extent of her yard work for April!

We are in the process of doing a major overhaul in our backyard too! Removing pesky rocks and putting in more sod and cement! I can’t wait until it is finished! It’s fun isn’t it?

Don’t you just love working in the yard and seeing it transpire! We took down a tree last year and laid sod in our backyard. It gets so much more sun now and is not a muddy mess! Mind you it still has the signs of owning two hounds! Great coffee machine, I bought a Dolce Gusto machine that makes hot and cold coffee a few years back and just love it!
No way!! Nala and I have had ENOUGH with the renovations! Now mommy and daddy are painting in between the 6th regrout of the floor, and putting in new baseboards. Renovations means a lot of “Stay out of there!” Booooo to renovations. Lalala

Wow! it seems a lot of work is going on in your yards soon! I don’t think we can do much work in our yard as Eva always goes cracker whenever she sees the lawn mower is out. However, we need to patch up some big holes which were done by Mika, ugh!!!
Hi Hound Girl, my dad hates even cutting the grass but it’s necessary because we have to do our bathroom stuff out back. Anyways, it looks like there’s alot of gardening and tree trimming going around your house. I bet that it’ll be great once everything is in and new plants and grass are planted.
WTF? COLD COFFEE is a sin you knows! Cold coffee and hot tea will kills you if you lives in da south.
You tells Scott if him needs holes to be dug I heres waitin’ on his call. I is a very good digger but my dad don’t appreciates it.

Our humans sort of gave up on the yard – maybe because we’re getting older we can get them to do stuff again… Your yard looks like it’s gonna be most beautiful. Our mom got one of those Keurig thingys recently. OMD you’d think the humans had never had coffee before. They are both in love with the thing – even our dad who detests change!! Have fun!

I hated coffee until I met my Keurig. I just don’t like over-brewed, “burnt” coffee. Who knew?!
Our yard is on a hill with lots of undergrowth. We are currently working on our tenant house which takes all our time, so we got nothing scheduled as of right now….except maybe cleaning our rugs. LOL
Wow, you have been busy. We have been lucky all our grass has come back this year. But we have had lots of rain so I am sure wants the rain stops the brown spots will reappear. Sniffs, The HoundDogs

There is always a food garden going at our house. 365 days a year!!! Even in the winter.

2 yrs ago we went to a desert landscape in the front no water and not really any work. It’s nice, but in the back we keep grass for the dogs . We can’t wait to see your yard when it all done.

Wow! You are in the midst of some BIG projects! Things will look great in a month or so…provided you do not have the drought and heat you did last year! The Army’s big project is to put some tomato plants in planting tubs and to keep them thriving long enough to actually yield so homegrown deliciousness! Wish us luck!
