Dog Toy Bin
Haylie…is obessed with her toys. She always has to have a toy in her mouth. Needless to say we have a lot of her toys lying around. They stretch from the backyard to the front yard.

We recently got a lot of new furniture in the house and Haylie’s old toy bin and her toys is a large eye sore in the living room. I found this metal bucket at my favorite place to shop (Ross) and thought it was perfect.
I do wish I would have gotten the larger basket, I didn’t realize how many toys she had until picking them up and putting them in a basket!
The past toy bins were cute little wooden baskets that got carried right out the dog door and became wood scraps.
What do you keep your toys in?

Posted under:

Your story is my story. I bought a neat basket, brought it home and the the toys were piled WAY over the top…even after I tossed some of the ickier ones. Instead of getting a larger basket, I’m thinking about getting another basket and having two toy bins. So sweet that Haylie loves her toys.
ok that is a great idea, I could just pick up another one and put it somewhere else! Why didnt I think about that
I threw some away too.
We has 3 baskets completely filled! But, they is out in anudder room so I can’t get to them and takes all my toys out. So I has one basket out (dat matches da livin’ room) dat I can has. Then da toys are rotated out. Yea, anudder of mum’s BRILLIANT ideas.
Puddles
BOL – I thought Monty had a lot of toys! We use two plastic wash bins. I love your new basket.
Sam
We have two large (decorative) metal plant holders. Every other materiel we tried ended up being destroyed. I must say that Haylie has an impressive stash of toys:)
Just stopping by to say hi!
Sam
thank you
We have something that looks pretty similar to your toy container. Pip is almost 14 and doesn’t play with his toys as much, but our two cats still love to play with toys (even dog toys).
Looks nice! I agree, our toy bin for the dogs is DEF. an eye sore! Especially when they toys get beat up and worn out
We have a laundry basket and a metal one similar to yours. We say get a matching one and if there is more room, get more toys!!! BOL
Lightning is the only who will actually dig in to find a toy, the rest of us just take whatever is on top.
And yes, we have a trail through the house too:)
Woos – Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
We’ve tried a toy bin… but none of my dogs thought that was cool so I’ve given up. The toys are just all over the house!! I do draw the line in the kitchen, but every once in a while Gretchen hides a ball in there just to test me.
Hehe, most of my toys are under our dining room table! It’s like my little girl cave there!
Lovies, Miss Mindy
My toys are in a wicker basket in the office. It’s a larger basket and it is over flowing. I rather like watching MOM walk from one end o f the house to the other gathering my toys. All though the last few years I have been better about picking up after my self. I don’t always get them back in the basket but they close.
Blessings,
Goose
Awesome! I have two bins for my dogs’ toys, one indoors and one outdoors. And, I have the same problem of having way more toys than I thought!
I keep my toys in a plastic milk crate! And on the floor.
Luv,
Dave
I saw a YouTube video of a dog picking up his toys and putting them in a basket. Greatest trick ever.
Oh boy, we don’t have a toy box yet for our 84664 toys
Benny & Lily
I like to keep my toys scattered on the floor, but mom does have a large basket that I’m supposed to use. Have a great weekend!
Love,
Payton
There’s four us furry kids here but only my brother and I are into stuffies and toys. However we’re not quite as stylish as you. Most of our toys are in two large cardboard boxes that are overflowing. Maybe we’ll have three boxes soon….
Your lucky she lets them stay here. Ours follow me around, when I pick them up they think they have to play with them right then, so I gave up and just kinda keep them in a pile on the floor, although we do have a plastic bin outside, for when we mow the grass. Happy to see you blogging again. p.s. I passed on your Van guard vet info to my son, who has just moved to Austin with a dog. Thanks for that info.
The silvers and more
You do need a larger basket…lol. That basket would be too big for the number of toys we have. Usually they are just strewn across the floor.
Cool toys!! We keep our toys scattered all over the place….
Licks,
Ruthie
We have big and little Plastic toy boxes… they are only about 6″ high and we can climb in and root through and stuffs.
We have all of OUR Rope Toys in one of the smaller boxes… I LOVE your tug toys!!!
Ours used to be on the ground but Mesa wouldn’t stop annoying us with tennis balls so it got put away
Stop on by for a visit

This is such a great idea! I wish I would have thought of it as Fred has chewed every toy bin I have given him!!
We keep our toys in an old dog bed.
Great bucket! I keep my toys in a big (huge, 3 times the size of me) wicker basket, since I don’t chew on things that aren’t mine.
Dachshund Nola
We keep our toys 3′ under the shrubs…hee hee. Your way looks cleaner!
Wyatt and Stanzie
My mom has given up putting my toys in a toy basket long time ago! I do understand why. Tee hee

My toys are HEAPED into a baby basket bed. The big bucket got to small.
But I have many toys, and I play with all of them!

We have two big wicker laundry baskets FULL of dog toys. It’s ridculous! These dogs have more stuff than I do!
I luv your toy bin! Bet it makes a good ding sound when you take your toys in and out Haylie
Such a colorful assortment of them too! Mine are all dingy. Mine don’t have a bin. Mine are very depleted in number. Um……..can I come live with you guys? I promise not to try and steal Fred’s food ;D
Waggin at ya,
Roo
We have 2 decent size baskets in the living room that are full of dog toys… so much so that we often never see what’s on the bottoms of the baskets until one of the foster dogs go digging deep and brings them all out! Sake is finding toys we haven’t seen in years!
Wowza Haylie, you have some great toys there. We are like you and leave ours strewn all over the house and every now and then mum puts them all in a pile in the family room. She thinks your toy bin is fab. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
HEe hee… the boys keep their toys on the couch in a little cat bed… Love it, but it does get messy as the toys are usually all over the floor.
pawhugs, Max
Ah! I need to hide this post from my mommy! I posted yesterday about how she took all my toys off the floor where I could lay with them, and put them in a box! I’m not liking it. ;(
Woofs & hugs, <3
~Bailey (Yep, I'm a girl)
My boys’ toys are kept in a dog bed. They weren’t using it anyways and I figured I might as well get some use out of it.
Crikey Haylie you do have a lot of toys! We think your mom better go buy a second bucket. Now where do we keep ours? Oh yes we remembered everywhere and anywhere! LOL
Have a great week

We have a large beautiful woven basket the size of a dresser drawer which is mounded with toys. I know how to put my toys away on command (and actually do it about a third of the time). My brother, YoYoMa, takes the toys out of the basket and scatters them all over the living room. If momma puts them away, he carries them right back out! Sheeesh!
We used to be very careful of toys, keeping them high on an inaccessible shelf, but now that Penny’s older we have a huge box on the floor and she goes to it sometimes to have a rummage around and choose a toy. I like to give her as much choice in her life as possible, because I think that is intellectually stimulating.
Currently we keep our dog toys in the super tiny dog bed that we have. Isn’t it funny how they always want the one at the bottom? Have you sucessfully taught Hallie to put her toys away? Yea – me either. g
Hound Girl, just heard over at Mango’s about Fred. I am so sad. Mom and I send our love to you and your family.

My old dog, Reggie, just crossed the bridge last Wed.; we had been told last summer that he would only last 3-4 weeks from a brain tumor but he last 8 mos and passed because of congestive heart failure. So when I say I understand, I do. I hope Fred’s memories will bring you peace.

We know he is running forever young and free of illness on the other side of the Bridge and will be waiting, tail wagging, when you join him. Please find comfort in knowing he lives forever in the hearts of everyone of us his life touched. Peace to you both. The White Dog Army.
