Diagnosis – Hip Dysplasia
They sedated her so that they could xray her hips.
She was diagnosed with one of the worst cases of hip dysplasia he has seen in his office ever. This was hereditary and she has had this since she was a puppy per the vet.
Her left hip is horrible – you can’t even see a ball joint – it’s like the joint exploded.
Her right is not as bad but will require some sort of surgery after her left is done.
My vet got on me about her weight – Haylie is has to loose a minimum of 10pds!!!
I cut her back immediately and she is whining for food and every time I walk by the room where she eats she gets all excited and jumps up.

We where referred to a specialist – orthopedic surgeon.
I am calling them today to get an appointment; there are 2 procedures that can be done
- Total hip replacement
- Femorel Head Ostectomy (FHO)
Both procedures are very pricey.
I will keep everyone posted once I find out more from the specialist!
